Author/Originator | Semmelmann, K. |
Date/Year | 2006 |
Abstract/Summary
In January 2006 ASC carried out a historic building recording of the Baptist Chapel, Little Brington on behalf of Abda Design Consultants in response to proposals for the conversion of buildings on the site to office use. The chapel lies adjacent to a complex of four associated buuildings (School, vestry, kitchen and WC) set around a courtyard. The chapel itself dates from the mid 19th century and the Sunday School from 1887. The vestry, kitchen and WC were constructed in the 1920s. Although the chapel retains many of the original features, including the immersion pool and the fittings for umbrellas at the end of the pews, the pulpit and dais appear to be late 19th century.
