Abstract/Summary

A prefabricated building erected for use as a school room in the grounds of Cranford C.E.Primary School has exceeded its lifespan and is to be demolished. Once common, these buildings are now increasingly scarce and a requirement was placed upon Northamptonshire County Council to ensure that it was recorded before its demolition. The basic structure remained largely as built although the windows had been replaced and few internal fixtures or fittings remained. The construction method recorded was as described by the Ministry of Works, however the dimensions of the building and some use of materials suggest that the building was not strictly a type 24 hut but rather a later and modified form.
