Abstract/Summary

During February and March 2012, Northamptonshire Archaeology undertook a watching brief at Delapre Abbey. The work was carried out during trenching to replace overhead cables. Any remains exposed by the trenching were characterised and recorded. Under the current road surfaces lay thick layers of building material showing post medieval disturbance. Towards the south of the site, closer to the original Abbey, possible ironstone foundations were uncovered in three areas. Post medieval brick structures were also visible throughout the site.
