Abstract/Summary

MOLA Northampton was commissioned by Persimmon Homes Midland to carry out a programme of archaeological observation, investigation, recording and analysis on land at Ashton Road, Roade, Northamptonshire in prior to the proposed development of the site. In July 2015, a large undated enclosure ditch and five pits dated to the 1st / 2nd century AD and the truncated remnant furrows of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation were exposed beneath the car park to the east of Ashton Road. Within the former factory site to the west of Ashton Road, further observation in October 2015, revealed no evidence of archaeological features.
