Abstract/Summary

A strip, map and recording action with supplementary archaeological observation, investigation and recording was undertaken between March and May 2016 by MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) prior to, and during the construction of a new dwelling with associated garage and driveway on land at Riddlesden House, Hinton in the Hedges, Northamptonshire. A pit alignment of probable prehistoric date, comprising six pits set on a north-east to south-west alignment was recorded along with a series of four ditches, all but one of which, were set on a predominantly north-west to south-east alignment. A single sherd of medieval pottery dating from between mid 11th to 14th centuries, along with a quantity of animal bone was recovered from one of the ditches.
