Abstract/Summary

A fieldwalking survey was carried out on 18 August 1992 as part of an archaeological evaluation in advance of the determination of a planning application for the construction of a golf course near Stoke Albany. Due to poor fieldwalking conditions, it remains uncertain how representative the finds are. There were no pottery concentrations over the cropmarks and only small quantities of worked flint, Iron Age/Roman pottery and early/middle Saxon pottery. The medieval pottery is probably a result of manuring practises.
