Abstract/Summary

Magnitude Surveys was commissioned to assess the subsurface archaeological potential of a c. 44.5 ha area of Land at Malabar Farm, Daventry, Northamptonshire. A fluxgate magnetometer survey was successfully completed and a number of anomalies of possible and probable archaeological origin have been detected. These are identified in the northern regions as partially recorded enclosures, both rectangular and circular. In the southern region, a large cluster of anomalies have been interpreted as an enclosure complex. Additionally, a potential single structure, field systems, and trackway features have been identified. The agricultural heritage of the survey area is evident within the results as ridge and furrow cultivation prevalent across the dataset. Modern activity is primarily limited to the edges of the fields.
