Abstract/Summary
MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by the Environment Agency to conduct a geophysical survey on an 18ha portion of floodplain of the River Nene at Fotheringhay, Northamptonshire. This work followed on from a previous survey carried out on an adjacent part of the floodplain in 2024. The survey identified a sparse scatter of undated ditches set against a variable background of former river channels and floodplain geology. Whilst most of the ditches seemed likely to be drainage channels and field boundaries, one formed a continuation of a large double ditched feature which had been identified by the revious survey and speculatively interpreted as a Neolithic cursus.
