Abstract/Summary
The first stage of an archaeological survey of the proposed route of the A422 Farthinghoe bypass comprised fieldwalking, magnetometer, earthwork and metal detector surveys. Four sites were already known, two being denoted by cropmarks and two by earthworks. Fieldwork showed only two sites to the directly affected and the road-line has since been moved to avoid them.
