Abstract/Summary

In February 1997 Cotswold Archaeological Trust carried out an evaluation on land north of Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire. This followed a desk-based assessment, and geophysical and fieldwalking surveys. This earlier work suggested the existence of three ring-ditches, possibly of prehistoric date; pits; linear features, and areas of less well-defined archaeological potential. Trial trenching identified pits and ditches in the northern part of the study area. However, no dating evidence was obtained for any of these features. The pits, four of which contained evidence of burning, appeared to be limited to a small area. The three ring-ditches proved to be post-medieval/modern in origin.
