Description

{1} The excavation confirmed the use of the site as a 'backyard' area in the medieval period, revealing a sequence of late medieval remains, such as pits and a ditch, sealed beneath a sequence of soils typical of a well-established garden. Residual pottery sherds indicate Saxon/ Saxo/Norman activity in the area and a shallow pit and a burnt area, possibly a hearth, were Romano-British in date.
