Description

{1} The sixth stage of archaeological mitigation within the proposed Rothwell and Desborough Bypass consisted of the excavation of trial trenches along the length of the route. The trenches confirmed the presence of three archaeological sites; an Iron Age settlement, Roman enclosures and an Iron Age pit alignment and an undated trackway. It appears that other substantial archaeological features do not survive within the road corridor.
