Description

{1} Six trial trenches were excavated along the course of a low linear earthwork which was interpreted as a causeway or road of probable Roman date. Three trenches were located to the north of the Wellingborough to Bedford railway line and trenches 4-6 were sited 300m further south to examine the relationship between the structure and a number of palaeochannels.
