Description

{1} A geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering approximately 8.5 hectares was carried out on the north-western edge of Irchester. No anomalies corresponding to linear and curvilinear cropmarks identified as cropmarks have been identified. The survey has identified extensive anomalies indicative of former quarrying activity of unknown period/s. Evidence of medieval or post-medieval ridge and furrow ploughing is also noted. A single anomaly of unknown, and therefore potentially archaeological, origin has been identified.
