Full Description
{1} There was also extensive evidence for medieval ridge and furrow cultivation.
{2} Small blocks of ridge and furrow are visible scattered throughout the parish of Irchester on aerial photographs and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. The blocks levelled in the latter half of the 20th century through continued agricultural cultivation, though some blocks remain as extant earthworks within pasture fields and paddocks. Some furlong boundaries and field boundaries were also mapped and recorded.
