Description

{1} Fifteen trenches were excavated. Three distinct phases of activity at the site were identified, the earliest recorded phase comprising undated ditches and pits, possibly prehistoric or Roman. Medieval occupation comprised the foundations of stone walls and remnants of associated surfaces. Some of the buildings, were superseded by later stone structures recorded on early historic maps. Post-medieval occupation continued until the early 19th century after which buildings were demolished.
