Description

{1} Twelve trenches were excavated to the the north and north-west of the earlier evaluation undertaken by Northamptonshire Archaeology. There was generally no attempt to investigate specific features identified in the original evaluation. However, trenches 5 and 6 were sited within the oval enclosure in order to examine any evidence of contemporaneous activity. A Bronze Age linear feature and Anglo-Saxon activity were identified, with the densest Saxon activity concentrated in the southern part of the field.
