Description

HER note 06/10/2014: the mapped area is the whole application site rather than the watching brief area as there are no detailed plans in the report. {1} Between 1994 and 1997 the OAU undertook a watching brief at Corney Land, Stanwick Pit. One palaeochannel and several irregular features possibly of Pleistocene date and filled with a dark brown peaty material were observed. {2} Ongoing project. Monitoring of gravel extraction. Watching brief failed to locate any archaeological features or finds except for a Prehistoric occupation which was excluded from gravel extraction.
