Full Description

{1} The possible cobbled surface from Trench 5 could add weight to the suggestion from the earthwork survey of the presence of a house platform, but its apparently limited dimensions render this assertion problematic.

{2} One of two small groups of earthworks at the east end of Sibbertoft (marked 'a' on plan), some of which may represent house sites. Earthwork plan: Fig 131.

{3} Prominent earhworks comprise former spring feed ponds with feeder channels and outflow channels and a more recently constructed spring head. There is also a disused brick-lined well. Raised platforms may be house platforms, but could be related to the springs. The Ordnance Survey refers to an area immediately west as the source of the River Welland.
