Summary
Three houses Numbered 1, 2, and 3 and known as Closes Villas are situated on the western side of Stamford Road to the north of Swan Farm. The houses were built in the mid 18th century with elaborate wooden porches added in 1896 and 1903. The buildings are constructed of squared coursed limestone with double pitch Collyweston slate roofs with stone and brick chimney stacks on the ridge and at the gable ends. The houses are single story with an attic range lit by five gabled eaves dormers with casement windows. The main facade of Numbers 2 and 3 form a three window range with three light casements under wooden lintels with Number 1 having a two window range of similar casements. 3 post medieval houses dated mid 18th century with 19th century alterations. Datestones referring to 1896 and 1903 represent the addition of porches.

Full Description
3 houses, Mid C18 and C19 datestones 1896 end 1903 refer to addition of porches. Squared coursed limestone, parts rendered, with Collyweston slate roofs. Originally one-and 2-unit plans. Single storey with attics, Nos. 2 and 3 together comprise a 3-window range of C19 casements under wood lintels. 2 plank doors, between window range, with elaborate wooden porches, dated 1913. 5 eaves dormers to attic, with casement windows. Brick and stone stacks at ridge and end. No.1 is a similar 2-window range attached to right; probably added C19. Wood porch is dated 1896. Interior not inspected but Nos.2 and 3 probably have remains of open fireplaces. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p34);

The datestones on the houses refers to the construction dates of the wooden porches. The buildings are Grade II Listed.
