Full Description

{1) A single gully aligned NW to SW cutting both subsoil and natural, the gully measured 1.35m wide and 0.53m deep with a loose V shaped profile. The ditch contained refuse from nearby occupation. The finds included a virtually complete shelly coarse ware cooking pot dating 1250-1400. There were also animal bone with butchery marks. The recovery of weathered human bone suggests burial (s) disturbed nearby in the medieval period. A residual sherd of Roman Samian ware was also recovered.
