Abstract/Summary

Trenches excavated on either side of Kings Brook behind the Church Lane and High Street road frontage confirmed the map of c1600, which showed the area was not occupied in the med/early post med period. Two 13-14th century gullies ran roughly parallel to Church Lane. One 50m and the other 70m away, they may have been the rear property boundaries of former med plots.
