Full Description
{1} The remains of a thin topsoil layer which sealed a large cobbled yard. On the northen side of the trench a series of 18th century remains was recovered under a 0.4m thick layer of sandy loam. The features included a stone drain sloping to the east which leads from a standing barn. The drain did not have a base but had two well dressed ironstone blocks standing on edge with limestone capping blocks 0.5m long. The drain cut two possible pits which were up to 1.5m x 1.3m and 0.5m deep. They contained two post medieval brick/tile fragments.
