Full Description
{1} NCCAP: SP7156/001+005-6.
{3} The main feature on the ground is the line of the original street (marked 'a' - 'b' on the earthwork plan). To the west of The Poplars it is still a well-marked hollow way up to 1m deep, but at the west end it fades out, although the 1810 map shows that it continued. The drive on the north side of The Poplars is on the line of the street and to the east the latter is still traceable as a shallow hollow way. Its east end is now blocked, though it apparently once ran on to meet the present road.
