Full Description

{2} The northern example of a short length of pit alignment shown on an aerial photograph. It is parallel to and c350m to the north of another pit alignment. This example may be a continuation of another visible further east within Northampton [HER no 4893/0/1].

{3} A visible earthwork 'ditch' can be seen within the woodland to the east between SP 71768 63557 to SP71789 63551, probably an eastwards continuation of this feature.

{4} A geophysical survey detected a linear trend with a four discrete-like anomalies which was most likely to be this pit alignment. Towards the eastern end of this feature lies a sub-circular anomaly that has been tentativly interpreted to be an enclosure.
