Full Description
{1} The survey has detected an expanse of ground disturbed by 19th and 20th century quarrying. Although historic Ordnance Survey maps show a number of limekilns in close proximity to the quarry, there is no convincing evidence in the data concerning the presence of these and it may be that any surviving kiln remains lie outside of the area surveyed.
{2} Trenches 15-17 yielded evidence of modern activity deriving from quarry works for limestone extraction.
