Full Description
{1} A road between the Roman towns of Thrapston and Irchester was suspected by Margary but there was insufficent evidence to prove its course in the 1970s. Subsequent excavation along the river valley has identified numerous sightings in the intervening years. The most significant is a 250m length identified at Higham Ferrers. In some areas the route of the road is still uncertain, with no evidence found on lidar or other records; it is most uncertain between ringstead and Thrapston and a pair of routes have been suggested.
