Full Description

{3} A minor concentration of early to middle Saxon pottery towards the centre of Field 1 was found in fieldwalking in 1989.
Field 2 yielded 295 early-middle Saxon sherds, and 710 late Saxon sherds concentrated in south end of field (particularly the south-west). 747 medieval sherds and 1149 late medieval sherds were also concentrated in the south and west of field [which field? - does not appear to be Field 2]. The next year trial trenches put through at pottery concentrations in field 1 failed to uncover any related features.

{4} Middle to late Iron Age enclosures, Roman settlement, Saxon, Medieval and Post Medieval settlement, evaluation by M Shaw.

{5} Fieldwalking by A. Rollings recovered medieval and post medieval pottery sherds.
