Full Description

{1} Number of features of possible archaeological origin; most probably of geological origin;

{3} Geophysical survey of the north-western part of the cropmark area identified a number of archaeological anomalies relating to a prehistoric or Romano-British settlement. Rectangular and circular enclosures, as well as a number of pits are all likely to relate to the settlement activity.

{4} Trial trenching of the field adjacent to Mill Lane found evidence of a probable Iron Age roundhouse/enclosure ditch and associated features in the western part of the field and Romano-British features, including part of a field system, possible trackway and other features to the east. Both areas of activity are probably peripheral to the main areas to the east.
