Full Description
{1} Geophysical survey identified a ditch aligned north-east to south-west which corresponded with one of the cropmarsk, although the circular enclosure was not identified. Further ditch and pit anomalies were also identified. Subsequent trial trench excavation identified an isolated pit in trench 4, north of the cropmark, which contained animal bone and a significant quantity of middle Iron Age date as well as heat-affected pebbles. A further ditch south of the cropmark also contained middle Iron Age pottery and the ditch that likely corresponded with part of the cropmark was present, but undated.
