Monument record 1925 - Possible Medieval Settlement, south of Hillside Farm

Summary
Cropmarks recorded in 1976. A series of conjoined rectlinear enclosures interpreted as likely to be medieval in date. Geophysical survey broadly confirmed the cropmark evidence and fieldwalking survey did not identify any specific concentrations of pottery.

Full Description
{1} Cropmarks recorded in 1979 include rectilinear enclosures and other indistinct features, possibly archaeological. Aerial photos NCCAP:SP9070/005-6.
{2} Photographed by Hollowell in 1976. SP908706.
{4} Fieldwalking and geophysical surveys were undertaken over part of the area of settlement. No significant concentrations of pottery were identified. The geophysical survey broadly confirmed the cropmark evidence.
