Full Description

{1} The name Old derives from the weald, meaning woodland. This suggests that the area was covered with woodland in the medieval period.

{2} Settlement remains (SP 784733) now destroyed, consisted of a broad hollow-way running N flanked by embanked closes, presumably house sites.
