Full Description

{1} Trunk road improvements on the A43 at Laxton Lodge in 1985 revealed a major iron working site and evidence of occupation.

{2} Large site with slag up to 2m deep excavated by D. Jackson. Late and early sherds. Sherds and 'occupation' seen in rabbit holes at SP 9680 9737. Much slag on the fields but it peters out to the south until the next sites Blatherwyke 1-2 start. Industrial settlement?

{4} Iron working sites, unlocated. Iron slag, associated with Roman pottery and coins, is recorded as having been found in Laxton, but the locations of these finds are unknown.
