Summary
Cropmarks of enclosures and ditches of Prehistoric or Roman date have been located on air photographs. Roman and Early Medieval pottery has been noted from the area. Finds of Anglo-Saxon pottery may indicate a settlement of that period in the vicinity.

Full Description
{1} Enclosures and ditches (centred TL 01657985) W of Titchmarsh village on Cornbrash at 175 ft above OD. Air photographs show two long parallel ditches, 75 m. apart, orientated N.W.-S.E. Between them are three very small enclosures and a ditch of V-plan; immediately outside the N.E. ditch is another enclosure and a circular feature. Plan.
{2} A small square enclosure of about a quarter of an acre shown in the area. NCCAPS: TL0180 & TL0179.
{5} Enclosures and ditches (TL 01657985). Roman pottery has been found on the cropmarks previously recorded.
Saxon Settlement (?) (TL 018798), on the same site as (11). Pottery of Saxon and early medieval types has been found
{6} (TL 01597990) Cropmark - rectangular with annext to the SW.
{7} The field is naturally stony but a slightly higher concentration of stones is to be seen at the site. One small sherd of possibly RB pottery was found. Could be the site of a building.
{8} Additonal cropmarks of possible Iron Age enclosures can be seen on HE Reconnaissance aerial photographs taken on 2nd June 2009.
