Abstract/Summary

Desk based assessment carried out ahead of development for small industrial units. Map and documentary evidence shoe the northern plot to have been developed from the latter part of the 19th century, possibly earlier. The site was formerly occupied by a quarry, tramway and related buildings, of which nothing now remains. However, the southern plot had not been developed, with the exception of the tramway, until the late 20th century, by an abattoir and factory, now disused.
