Abstract/Summary

Archaeological survey and excavation carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology on land to the east of Great Harrowden Road, Wellingborough confirmed the presence of an Iron Age and Roman enclosure first identified from cropmarks. The remains, comprising ditches and pits, were truncated and partly destroyed by extensive 19th-century ironstone quarrying. An Iron Age coin, possibly of Andoco, was found in one of the pits.
