Description

{1} Archaeological trial trench evaluation on land proposed for the Sandy Lane Relief Road at Upton, revealed a series of isolated ditches possibly of Iron Age or Roman date. Considerable variation in the natural geology was noted over the entire route of the road corridor, including the presence of a possible palaeochannel. [NB. The report includes reference to a geophysical survey, but when this took place is not made clear. Need to follow up on this with NA.]
