Full Description
{1} Archaeological trial trench excavation identified several ditches. Trench 2 contained a single ditch aligned north west to south east, 0.8m wide by 0.2m deep with a wide V-shaped profile.Trench 4 contained a single ditch aligned north east to south west, 0.4m wide by 0.08m deep, with a shallow U-shaped profile and concave base. Trench 5 contained a single ditch aligned north south, 1.1m wide by 0.2m deeo with a V-shaped profile and concave base. The ditches revealed probably form part of a series of Iron Age/Romano-British field systems identified from cropmarks to the east and west of the proposed road corridor.
