Full Description

{1} Cropmarks of three ring ditches and a rectangular enclosure.

{2} The Hollowell APs show two clear barrow circles, the easterly with an internal ring, and irregular enclosures to the N and S. The enclosures could not be identified on the ground but the
barrows can be seen as very low elevations. The higher,(the smaller)western ring attains no more than 0.2m. On this a small sherd of probable BA pottery was found.

{3} The West Grendon complex (centred SP 872618) NE of the Electricty Grid Sub-Station, close to the R. Nene, on gravel at 46 m. above OD. Air photographs (in NMR) show an extensive area of cropmarks
including ring ditches, enclosures and linear ditches. Field-walking and excavation, before destruction by gravel working, have shown that these remains reflect activity of several different periods.

{5} Cropmarks, lines of pits at SP 878620 parish of Grendon. (Nothing visible on available APs RAF 1947).

{6} (SP 877621) "Palisade" feature on APs in Northampton Museum. July 1959.

{7} AP taken by Hall in 1962 shows pit alignment crossing a semi-double-ditched enclosure and a circle close by centred SP 87866202. Nothing of interest seen on the ground.
