Monument record 6069 - Fineshade Abbey Park

{1} Hon John Monekton Esq.; no parkland is defined on the map, only the house being shown. At this point it is clear that the lakes had not been created.

{2} A small area of park is shown on the early C19th map. Again, there is little evidence that the lakes had been created by this time.

{3} By the 1950s it appears that the parkland had been extended south-west to include a lake which may formerly have been part of the more extensive designed landscape for Laxton Hall; Fineshade Abbey's parkland may however have contracted to the north of the house.

{6} Hon John Monckton.

{7} Parkland is not marked, so difficult to establish how extensive it was at this time.
