Summary

Shrunken settlement, first documented in Domesday. Disturbed earthworks probably represent former settlement, which was of an unusual pattern in the parish being divided between four discrete units.

Full Description

{1} Butchers are attested at Pattishall in the 14th century.

{2} Settlement remains (SP 669 543). Disturbed earthworks suggest former house sites. The remains emphasise the unusual Medieval settlement pattern in the parish which is divided between four discrete units, Pattishall, Astcote [SP 65 SE 6, 29], Eastcote [SP 65 SE 30] and Dalscote [SP 65 SE 31] of which the first two are mentioned in Domesday.
