Full Description
{1} The enclosure of the open fields probably took place between 1539-1547. In 1539 the whole of the former arable demesne land of the priory, comprising some 341 acres, lay in the common fields.
{2} In 1547 Sir John Cope ran 2000 sheep in the parish; ridge and furrow was noted; in 1489 100 acres was enclosed by the prior.
{3} Most of the land around Canons Ashby was already enclosed by the dissolution.
