Abstract/Summary
In February 2012, Northamptonshire Archaeology undertook a watching brief at Chester House Farm, Irchester. The work was carried out during geotechnical evaluation by the MACE group for Northamptonshire County Council. Any masonry remains exposed by the evaluation were characterised and recorded. Under the current access road a limestone surface was uncovered probably relating to an earlier road surface. Within trial pit 8 on the north-east side of the northern barn two layers and a surface on which lay Roman and medieval pottery.
