Abstract/Summary

Wardell Armstrong was commissioned to undertake archaeological evaluation of land at Moulton Heights, Northamptonshire. The work took place over 48 days between the 8th of September and the 11th of November 2014. The evaluation comprised the excavation of 109 fifty metre long trenches across the proposed development area (which subsequent to the trial trenching has been reduced in size). This was followed by manual cleaning, excavation and recording of the archaeological features and deposits encountered. The trenches were spread across eleven fields and were positioned to investigate geophysical anomalies highlighted by a survey undertaken in early 2014 and also blank areas. A total of 49 trenches contained archaeological deposits and features.
