Abstract/Summary

Five archaeological trial trenches were excavated in September 1994 at Nassington, Northants, in connection with IDO application EN/92/386C made by KSR International Ltd. The work was designed both to examine the nature of linear features known from aerial photographs and to investigate the significance of previously recorded patches of burning residue and iron slag associated with magnetic anomalies. The trial excavation exposed sections of undated ditches below some of the cropmarks. No features were associated with the burnt areas and scatters of metal slag.
