Full Description

{2} The Domesday Survey of 1086 records the settlement of Collingtree as Colentreu, Colen meaning place and treu possibly meaning 'tree' or trough. Alternatively the placename could derive from St Columba to whom the village church was dedicated in 1170. The Lincoln Register in 1241 records Collingtree and Milton Malsor as a joint Manor.
