Summary

Cropmarks of curvilinear and rectilinear enclosures, as well as trackways and possible roundhouse ring ditches have been identified on aerial photographs over a wide area. Modern quarrying in the eastern part of the settlement has revealed significant quantities of pottery and wall foundations.

Full Description

{1} Cropmark complex of rectangular and irregular enclosures and ditches.

{2} The possible Iron Age or Roman settlement was visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. The settlement comprises of conjoined rectilinear enclosures, circular enclosures, and linear ditches. The settlement may also be associated with two parallel linear ditches recorded as Monument Number 347083 and further finds of Prehistoric and Roman in date.
