Title An Archaeological Evaluation of Sites 4 and 5 Brook Street, Daventry Stage 2: Trial Excavation
Author/Originator
Date/Year 1996

Abstract/Summary

Trial excavation confirmed the indications of an earlier desk-based assessment of Sites 4 and 5, brook Street, Daventry. The street frontages had been partly cellared from the 18th or 19th centuries and modern landscaping had destroyed almost all of what remained. Widespread foundations had done further damage. On site 4, only small islands of pre-19th century remains survived. On Site 5 no earlier remains were present.
