Description

Site code: HAHR14. A 19 trench evaluation on land off Hanslope Road, Hartwell, Northamptonshire, following a scheme of geophysical survey. The previous survey identified potential enclosures, their amorphous shape suggesting an Iron Age date, plus other possible features elsewhere across the site. The majority of trenches were targeted over these areas. The evaluation recorded two parallel ditches in the area of the purported enclosures, elsewhere on site two medieval buildings with adjacent surfaces were noted along with other associated medieval boundary ditches. Undated features are likely to be more modern features associated with the prolonged use of the site for agriculture. Information from OASIS Online Form.
