Summary

Staverton is briefly mentioned in 10th century charters relating to Badby and was known as 'Stavertone' at Domesday in 1086. In 1720 there was a serious fire that destroyed many of the older buildings in the village. Earthworks of medieval settlement were present at the east end of the village, although they have been largely destroyed by modern development.
